State and local police in Virginia and Maryland are continuing their search for an Accomack County man wanted for abducting an 18-year-old woman early Wednesday (June 12) morning near the state line.
A Virginia Critically Missing Adult Alert was activated for Vermelle Tontrese Moore (updated name), 18, who was most recently residing in Accomack County. “She was safely located in Maryland shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday (June 12),” a spokesperson for the state police reported.
The search continues for Jerry A. Satchell, 20, of Horntown. Satchell is wanted on charges of abduction, felony destruction of property, and felony assault. Satchell is accused of forcing Moore into a dark green 1993 Ford F-150 pickup truck and fleeing. The incident occurred at 3 a.m.
