Mr. Lew Carroll Cropper, 83, husband of the late Thelma Gray Cropper, his wife of 60 years, and a resident of Nassawadox, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, at his residence. A native of Keller, he was the son of the late E. Carroll Cropper and the late Anne Trower Cropper. Mr. Cropper was a U.S. Army veteran, retired manager for the Cape Charles ABC store, member of American Legion Post #56, avid card player, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by three children, Ann Lou Cropper Boehm and her husband, Mark, of Temperance, Mich., Kimberly Cropper Wells and her husband, Ray, of Cape Charles, and Douglas Carroll Cropper, of Nassawadox; a sister, Anne Matthews, of Wachapreague; six grandchildren, Scott Pusey and his wife, Kim, Eric Boehm and his wife, Jenny, Raymond Wells Jr., Jacob Wells, Samantha Huffman and her husband, John, and Christian Cropper and his wife, Michelle; and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Trower Cropper.
A graveside service was conducted Monday, May 13, 2019, at Fairview Lawn Cemetery with the Rev. Jonathan Carpenter officiating. Memorials may be made to Riverside Shore Hospice, P.O. Box 615, Onley, VA 23418.
