Mr. William Phillips Fetterman Sr., 64, of Quinby, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019. Born Feb. 18, 1955, in Nassawadox, he was a son of the late Robert Stahl Fetterman Sr. and the late Irene Godbey Fetterman.

For more than 20 years, Mr. Fetterman worked for Perdue Farms as the rendering maintenance supervisor, where his dedication to maintaining the plant’s equipment around the clock was invaluable. Mr. Fetterman had a soft spot for all animals and would often welcome neighborhood strays and spoiled his family’s pets. It was rare to find him without an Xbox controller in hand, or in front of his computer while watching his favorite shows on television. Mr. Fetterman was known for giving family and friends a hard time, but they knew if he was picking, he was showing his love. 

Mr. Fetterman is survived by his children, Phil Fetterman and wife, Jennifer, of Laurel, Del., and Christy Belote and husband, Donnie, of Accomac; sister, Beverly Fetterman Sebra and husband, Ken, of Malvern, Pa.; brothers, Robert S. Fetterman Jr. and wife, Pam, of Bloxom, K.C. Fetterman and wife, Betty Jean, of Sanford, and Douglas W. Fetterman and wife, Donna, of Deep Creek; grandchildren, Jillian Fetterman and Benjamin Belote; step-granddaughter, Cassidy Belote; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Mr. Fetterman’s life was held at the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home Wednesday, May 15, 2019 with the Rev. Bill Moore officiating.
