By Linda Cicoira — The bodies of two people were found early Monday morning at a house on Lankford Highway near Parksley, according to a prepared statement issued by Sheriff Todd Godwin.
The sheriff’s office received a report at 2:35 a.m. When deputies arrived they found the bodies of Juan Benjamin Lopez, 48, and Irma Orfilia Castillinos, 52, in the living room of the house. Both had been stabbed and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The house is behind the former Crockett gallery and another house where a man was shot to death at a party several years ago.
The investigation is continuing. An officer said the bodies were taken to the medical examiner’s office this morning. It was unclear from the announcement if the two people lived at the house. No other information was available. County investigators were assisted by the state police.
Anyone with information about the deaths is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 757-787-1131 or 757-824-5666. Tips may also be submitted through Godwin’s website at accomackcountysheriffsoffice.org
