Ms. Betty Lee White, 82, resident of Bloxom, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at her home.
Born June 16, 1936, in Parksley, she was a daughter of the late Coley Robert Beasley Sr. and Betty Virginia Core Beasley. For more than 27 years, Ms. White shared her love and expertise for cooking working for the Accomack County Sheriff’s Department, where she was beloved for both her talents in the kitchen and her loving nature. Though she enjoyed cooking, her greatest love was for Chuck Norris. You could often find her watching Chuck in one of the many western movies he made, and she never missed her favorite day time soaps, “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful”. Ms. White adored her family, as they did her, and she will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her two children, Lee White and Terri Lynn Ross, both of Bloxom; sister, Shirley Mears and husband, Herbert, of Greenbush; three brothers, John Beasley and wife, Linda, of Southside Chesconnessex, Bobby Beasley and wife, Peggy, of Temperanceville, and Thomas Beasley and wife, Libby, of Bloxom; two grandsons, Christopher White and Joshua Hudson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ellen Miller.
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Dec. 6, 2018, with the Rev. John Cullop officiating. Interment followed in the Parksley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office Toy Drive: ACSO, P.O. Box 149, Accomac, VA 23301.
