Mr. Emory Thomas Taylor, 75, husband of Sharon Travis Taylor and a resident of New Church, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born April 26, 1943, in Nassawadox, he was a son of the late Emory James Taylor and Ida Mae Taylor. Mr. Taylor retired from Holly Farms, now Tysons, where he worked as a truck driver for many years. He was a diehard New York Yankees fan, loved the Washington Redskins, and enjoyed drag racing and watching NASCAR. Above all else, Mr. Taylor adored his family, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his loved ones. Though his earthly presence will be greatly missed, his legacy of unconditional love will live on in those he left behind.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his two sons, Walter Taylor and fiancé, Charity, of Hallwood, and Upshur Taylor and wife, Kathy, of New Church; two stepchildren, Ashley Crockett and husband, Charles, of Harborton, and Travis Marshall, of Sanford; four sisters, Mary Grace Cline, of Melfa, Billie June Taylor, of Lynchburg, Va., Joanne Carey, of Hallwood, and Laura Mae Trader, of Salisbury, Md.; three brothers, Gregory Dennis Taylor Sr., of Guilford, Timothy Ray Taylor and wife, Shirley, of Parksley, and William Carroll Taylor and wife, Dianne, of Bloxom; eleven grandchildren, Little Walt, Damien “Buddy”, Emory, Sarah, Thomas, Charles, Little Up, Joseph, Tony, Kelly, and Whitney; five great-grandchildren, Shaelyn, Kyli, Harris, Cassidy, and Riley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Wayne “Bo” Taylor.

Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, with the Rev. Maury Enright officiating. Interment followed in the Liberty Cemetery.
