Mr. Martin Wayne Crockett Sr., 74, of Tangier Island, died Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.
Born on Tangier on May 23, 1944, he was a son of the late Peter and Mildred Crockett.
He was a waterman and a member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball – especially the New York Yankees, music, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Ella Parks Crockett, of Tangier; two children, Martin Wayne “Marty” Crockett Jr. (Cheryl), of Crisfield, and Hope Crockett Evans (Norwood), of Tangier; a brother, Perry Crockett (Pam), of Crisfield; three grandchildren, Pete Crockett, Cameron Evans, and Lacee Evans; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Martin Wayne Crockett Jr.; and three brothers, Peter Crockett, Bob Crockett, and Alva Dale Crockett.
A memorial service was held July 15, 2018, at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. Duane Crockett, Denny Crockett, and the Rev. Nona Allen officiated.
