Mr. Carl F. Beck, 87, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y. on July 27, 1930. He earned a B.S. and M.A. from NYU. Shortly after, Mr. Beck began a career as an educator, where he dedicated 30 years in various roles in both New Jersey and New York.
Mr. Beck spent his entire life working as an artist. His true passions consisted of sculpture, charcoal, paints, and craftsmanship. He even designed and built a home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He owned and operated the Trawler Restaurant in Exmore. In later years, Mr. Beck was an estimator, planner, and strategist for a development company.
He enjoyed watching Virginia Tech football and rooting for the Redskins. He will be truly missed by his kitties Blinky and Jingles.
Mr. Beck is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ella Beck; and son, Richard Beck. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Charlotte Beck; sister, Tina Hall and husband, Tom; children, Carl F. Beck, James Beck, and Laurie Beck; six stepchildren, Brian Kahan and wife, Lisa, Pam Smith and husband, Paul, Zachary Parks, Lydia Pugh and husband, Patrick, Jacob Parks, and Carter Parks; 12 grandchildren, John, Everett, Matt, Kristopher, Samantha, Tori, Jillian, Lukas, Zenobia, Zara, Patrick “Flip,” and Thomas; and one great-grandchild, Anabelle.
