Mrs. Jessie Hargis Gladstone, 85, wife of the late William H. “Billy Cut” Gladstone Jr. and a resident of Painter, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock. A native of Accomac, she was the daughter of the late Roland Edward Hargis and the late Ruth Milliner Hargis Shrieves. She was retired from N.A.M. Hospital, a member of Belle Haven United Methodist Church, past matron of Mildred Stephenson Chapter #117 of Wachapreague and past grand representative to New York Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda G. Conway and her husband, Pete, of Kilmarnock, Va., and Lori G. Mitchell and her husband, Tommy, of Painter; two grandchildren, Ryan S. Conway and his fiancée, Kari Mitchell, of Kilmarnock, and Lindsay Conway Schlechta and her husband, Chris, of Chantilly, Va.; and two great-granddaughters, Lillian Marie Schlechta and Sadie Conway Schlechta, both of Chantilly.
A graveside service was conducted July 10, 2018, at Belle Haven Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Oh officiating. Memorials may be made to Belle Haven United Methodist Church, PO Box 37, Belle Haven, VA 23306.
