A 17-year-old girl from Cape Charles has been charged in connection with a motorcyclist’s death on U.S. Route 13 in Northampton County.
The girl, whose name was not released by the state police, was charged with failure to yield right of way.
She was driving a 2010 Lexus and making a left turn from southbound U.S. Route 13 at the Cape Charles when she hit a northbound motorcycle, state police said.
The incident happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.
A Delaware man, 20-year-old Devin Marcum, died at the scene, state police said.
The crash remains under investigation and closed the northbound lanes of Route 13 for several hours.
Units and personnel from Cheriton, Cape Charles, Cape Charles Rescue, and Northampton County EMS responded to the incident.
